It is Well With My Soul
Throwback picture to when God came through for me and a lesson from Mark:
I was reading in Mark 14 today, and it was the night before Jesus was going to be arrested and crucified.
He was just about to foretell Peter’s denial of Him, but before that, scripture says they “sung a hymn” in vs 26.
And that caught my attention, because how amazing is it that the night before our Lord is betrayed by His friends and is crucified, He sang praises to the Father?
How many of us could say the same? I’m not sure I could.
I’m quick to sing praises to the Father when things are going well, but when I am suffering, my praise is a bit of tune.
But, Im on a mission to be a woman who has a song of praise in her heart that is rooted not in circumstances of the moment, but in the trustworthiness of God.
Thankful that the Helper and Comforter provides for me even when I am a bit off tune most days.
And knowing that He is able to compose my circumstances into a beautiful symphony used to draw others toward Him.
“I waited patiently for the LORD;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:1-3
